UNDERWORLD (The Immortal Battle for Supremacy) EXPLAINED

A war has been raging for centuries between the Vampires, a secretive clan of modern, aristocratic sophisticates, and their mortal enemies, the Lycans, a shrewd gang of street thugs who prowl the city's underbelly. When the Vampire death dealer, Selene, who is assigned to hunt down and eradicate the last of the Lycans, uncovers a plot by the Lycans to capture Michael Corvin, a human who holds the key to end the war, no one will believe her. The balance of power is upset and Selene must decide where her allegiances will lie. Who started the war?

Underworld, Underworld: Evolution, and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans were actually pretty decent films. Unfortunate that things began falling off pretty hard by Awakening and Blood Wars.

I was, and still am, so impressed by the practical effects the pulled off on this film. It's helped the series age incredibly well and stands above other supernatural thrillers that came out at this time.

I like how everyone talked about the Elders almost like they were legends and then Victor woke up like "what's this ruckus?" Everyone shit themselves, then he just casually walks up on a lycan with a sword lmao OG foreal. This movie aged like fine wine.

My favorite Vampire/Werewolf franchise of all time! However what they did to Michael still pisses me off to this day. Do you know how awesome it would have been if Michael, Selene and Eve were together, they would've been unstoppable. Probably would have ended up ruling over both Vampires and Lycans.

I just realized that these movies came out pretty much the same time Resident Evil did, and theres quite a few similarities between the characters of Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale.

I never considered Underworld a horror movie. It was straight comic book action that had vampires and werewolves instead of heroes and villains. Loved every minute of it!

This film was an adrenaline rush to the senses. Great story, characters, action, and let's not forget the soundtrack either! The next 2 films were just as great and if you only watch those 3 films...you get a pretty complete storyline if you think about it.
