Everest - Official Trailer (HD)
In theaters September 18

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival. The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Everest is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband) and produced by Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson, as well as Nicky Kentish Barnes and Kormákur.

Universal Pictures and Cross Creek Pictures’ presentation of Everest—in association with Walden Media—is adapted for the screen by William Nicholson (Gladiator) and Oscar® winner Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire).

The film was shot on location in Nepal on the foothills of Everest, the Italian Alps and at Cinecittà Studios in Rome and Pinewood Studios in the U.K. Universal will distribute Everest worldwide.

My father was invited on this everest expedition in 1996 by both team leaders as a doctor but he decided not to go. He also knew a good amount of these climbers that were on this climb from previous expeditions. Thank god he didn't go.

I actually felt empathy with these people, so I almost shed a tear at the end of the film. Yes, they put themselves in this situation but I felt their desperation nevertheless. I think Becks answer to the "Why" question helps to understand their motivation to do this journey

What’s disturbing is that anyone who climbs Everest can see the people who were left behind ( if they aren’t buried in snow). It’s truly heartbreaking and I sympathize with all the families that have lost to Mount Everest.

I would not climb on a snowy mountain like that I'll stick to building a snowman in my backyard.

My dad took me to see this movie when i was 12 in IMAX. I can assure you watching this movie in IMAX is worthy but also terrifying. It's like you're climbing with these people in Everest. May the people who didn't survived the Everest disaster rest in peace. These guys are heroes for having the balls to climb that dangerous mountain

I'm sure many will agree that Jake Gyllenhaal deserves more screentime than that

Gotta love how there's practically no mention of Anatoli Boukreev who basically single-handedly saved the lives of three of the climbers. :/

Since it claims to be a movie based on true events I really hope they show the crucial role of Sherpas, without whom climbing is IMPOSSIBLE. I'm already disappointed that they didn't mention a Sherpa once in the trailer. Please don't take away from what these people have done for centuries.

If you guys loved this movie, then you MUST read Into Thin Air. It's a novel about what it was like on Everest written by Jon Krakauer, one of the men on the 1996 expedition (the one this movie is about). It's a phenomenal story.

We had to watch the documentary on these guys back in the 7th grade. It truly is an amazing story. Hopefully it will get the recognition it deserves now.
