Killer arrangement and performance. Love the subtle change to the vocal phrasing and the chord subs.

Timbre: Yes. Pitch: Yes. Phrasing, articulation and syncopation: Yes, yes, yes. Dynamics: Yes. Creativity: Yes. I can't really assess the pronunciation, but it sounds great, and the original lyrics are much more musical compared to the flatter English version anyway, so: Yes. Supportive accompaniment & great musicianship all around: Yes and yes. Oh, how I wish I could sit in the front row and listen to this as it was being performed! This is what music should be all about!!!

One cannot help falling in love with Martina' singing. She is the Karen Carpenter of jazz. Karen was -possibly- the best pop singer this country ever produced, with a distinctive voice that came accross crystal clear. Martina has nothing to envy Karen. Her voice, the quality and taste of arragements and vocal flourishes is impeccable. Jobim, Vinicius, Joao Gilberto, Dori Caymmi and other great musician/composers are smiling wherever they are when Martina sings their songs. Even Claus Ogerman himself, would had been very pleased to have arranged for a Martina DaSilva record.

Olha, que coisa mais linda
Mais cheia de graça
É ela, menina, que vem e que passa
Num doce balanço, a caminho do mar

Moça do corpo dourado

2:09 was super smooth. Well done, I enjoyed the melodic experimentation throughout the piece

@1:50 that guy is so pissed. Reminds me of Miles Davis looking at Herbie Hancock when Herbie finished his phrase

As a Brazilian person, i can assure that this is perfect. I been listening to this for almost an hour, and i'm not really a fan of brazilian songs, but i loved this, thank you for this beautiful cover

One of my favourite songs of all time. The girl from Ipenema, in Portuguese. The haunting melody, the bosses nova rhythm. The sound of the Brazilian sun. This version is with that extra bit of spice. The vocalist is an absolute beast The musicians, second to none. Each super skillful. The pianist is profoundly excellent. Together, super impressive

Music has this universal language even when I don't understand a word of what she's saying. Lovely!🦋💃
