The first 100 or so issues of the Fantastic Four might be the greatest run in comic book history.

I specifically bought the third Fantastic Four Omnibus to get the Galactus story. I bought it in black in and white so I could really see Kirby's work. I usually have to read manga to find a comic that stays on my mind that long. I actually dozed off reading the book because even though I was tired I refused to stop reading.

If Marvel just reprinted the entire FF Stan and Kirby run with modern coloring -- Laura Martin or Marte Garcia -- I'd buy the whole thing again. If they printed it with Kirby's pencils, not inks, I've give them my bank account number.

See, Marvel. I want to give you my money.

This should be mandatory reading for all super hero fans. Thanks for celebrating the King!

Loved the video. I got into Fantastic Four w/John Byrne, but I will give these a read. I've tried reading Silver Age before, but wasn't really my cup of tea.

Definitely a fun video. Love it, good old fashioned comic books.

You could have just as easily made a list of the top 104 Kirby issues of Fantastic Four . It is simply the greatest sustained run in comics history .

Fantastic Four #10, where they answer letters from the fans in story, was an important issue, too. I think it was in this issue that the dynamics between the team members was really set in stone. Before, the Thing was (understandably) very resentful and angry at Reed and the rest of the team. After #10, they started acting more like a family.

In a way I'm glad they are not publishing Fantastic Four right now, at least they can't muck it up.

But I do sure miss me some F4!
