Clearly the club made him stay for commercial reasons and Roy Keane even said there were offers in the summer but the club refused to let him leave. if the manager had no desire to play him, then he should have been allowed to leave and we would not even be in this situation.

Now this is out there and I don't even know if it is legal: but why doesn't Ronaldo terminate his contract by himself? The man has hundred of millions of dollars and is on the final stretch of his career. Why would he even risk staying in this position? Pay some of the buyout fee and get out of there. Massively cut his wages if that is a holding point. He doesn't need a ridiculous salary at this point. Sure, he is worth a huge salary because of his skill set and marketing but is that worth being at ManU for the rest of the year? Nope. Take a "measly" amount and go play for a team that wants him, a team that needs a striker, and prove all the people at ManU that they were wrong about him.
