That last chord I've actually got my pinky finger pressing down on a note, but if you remove it, the open E string works as well. Call it a bonus two-for-one chord! :D

Allman Brother's "Melissa" is a wonderful example of movable open chords. Alex's use of the D and F shapes with the open D in 2112's "Discovery" and so many other Rush songs ...

This is honestly one of the coolest guitar videos I've seen on YouTube, it's led me to come up with some other moveable chord shapes which is just so much fun. Thank you!

There's one from a great Billy Talent song.
A7 - D5 - G3 - B0
They use it up and down the neck and that open B string really carries the chords.

I love how descriptive the video title is. So anti-clickbait. Love it.

Reminds me of that classic Black Sabbath acoustic instrumental "Fluff". A beautiful song. Great video and love the closing song!

As a Progressive Music lover and a fan of Tool and Mastodon I thought of having my own musical style and experiment with things.
I cannot play bar chords and thought of going with open chords and yeah I've composed songs using the shapes that you've shown here.
Really it works great.

The first 7th fret one is used by Tony Iommi in the song "Falling Off the Edge of the World". One of my favorite Dio era Black Sabbath songs. \m/

Got a question for the next podcast for you:
Tyler, what is your dream guitar?
And Bethany, what is your favorite guitar that Tyler owns?

Amazing... i love this kind of approach. Very used on prog and folk rock.

Ive been playing guitar for over 33 years and this is a cool video with some great chords and phrasing but I think it would help beginners to know what the chord names/notes are so that the theory can be retained. Like the chord @2:03....could be written a few different ways but that to me is an Esus4add9 or more weirdly Esus2sus4. E B A F#. I think it would be helpful for those starting out to understand what these are :)

These are exactly the kinds of things I'm looking for, along with big sounding chords that go well with a drop-tuned power-chord. Mark Hollcomb had some good examples in one of his clinics.
