Can someone please explain to me how mark 4:11, 12 fits in with the doctrine of total depravity?
Specifically, my question is, since everyone has no ability nor even a desire to respond positively to the gospel and choose God then why would Christ doing the will of the father specifically and intentionally speak to these people in parables for the purpose of keeping them from responding positively to the gospel? It seems redundant and unnecessary.

I like John piper's sermons except I cannot agree with him what he's saying around 17:00 that someone who never believes winds up and never ending suffering. That would have to make that lost sinner immortal for him to live forever in never ending suffering. But God alone has immortality according to scripture. Just that one verse cuts the head off of this fear based Antichrist Catholic deception.

The amount of strawmanning Piper does is staggering - but invisible to those who need to believe Calvinism's dictrines.
