For the same total calories, is there a certain combination of carbs and fats the maximizes the storage as fat?

In the Randall cycle study, researchers discovered a lesser-known phenomenon: the involvement of specific lipid molecules, like lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), in the regulation of cholesterol metabolism within the arterial wall. This finding shed light on the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis development and paved the way for further exploration in lipid biology.
The real head scratcher is why was the research pretty much ignored otherwise .

Using mostly fat for fuel is treating me well. Had a chest x-ray for asthma and they thought they saw pneumonia. Called back today to say it isn't pneumonia and by the way, the x-ray showed a healthy ❤️. Keto for the win.

@jazok Good point. It’s ridiculous to extrapolate simple in vitro pathways to complex in vivo systems
And, cardiac muscle is different to skeletal muscle

58 years skinny. Can easily get high blood glucose. Obesity alone definitley isn't a cause of diabetes. Being able to put on fat probably gives you a bit of a buffer.

When doing high volume, intense bodybuilding, I would have to disagree with you, I have trained in keto and can tell you at some point you do need to include a couple of high carb meals per week at least, the only time it's not required is if it not intense training and not very frequent,
So there is no black or white, everything is dependant on other factors .
For general walking around, shopping, daily activities, no not required, but intense muscular contractions done frequently, your training suffers if at least 2 carb meals a week aren't had

So, is eating meat with non starchy vegetables and a little dairy going to give me diabetes, or not??

It's not the consumption of fat and carbs that's the problem. Nature combines fat and carbs in many different foods. Take mother's milk for instance. The issue is the amount of nourishment ingested at any one time. Overeat carbs, problem. Overeat fat, problem. Overeat, overdrink, or overdo anything, problem! An avocado has protein, carbs, as well as fat. So does milk. So do nuts. And they're all perfectly fine to eat. But if you eat 5 avocados, a ton of nuts, or drink five glasses of milk, then obviously you'll suffer all kinds of consequences. It's simple. Why overcomplicate things?

The more fat you eat, the more insulin it takes to put a specific amount of blood sugar in cells. The fat coats the insulin receptor sites. If you're on a keto diet and there is a net weight loss, you might end up less obese over time, but it's not an optimum diet for degreasing insulin receptor sites. In fact, you could end up with symptoms of normal weight "obesity".

The thing is though, that there is only about a teaspoonful of sugar in the entire circulatory system in any one time, so unless the dietary intake is less than that, then fat clogging is going to be the primary cause of high blood sugar, because you're always eating enough sugar that if it were in blood altogether without exit, there would be high blood sugar.
Complex carbohydrates, eating little and often, and less than 10 grams of fat a day, with the ability to add more simple sugars and eat fewer large meals as the insulin resistance clears up, adding a bit of exercise to speed up the process, but keeping the fat low for life will cure type 2 diabetes.
