XHDATA VS SIHUADON D 808 with Orange color display update

In case you are wondering, they are exactly the same radio, the XHDATA changed its backlight to Orange starting in the 2021 models

I bought my sihuadon d808, not for shortwave reception but for fm radio. It's fm reception is quite outstanding for a radio this class. Usually fm radio support is just an afterthought for these kind of receivers, combining poor gain and wideband filters, but not this time. On my channel you can find a fm bandscan made during my trip to Barcelona this year, and it proves how nicely this radio can pick up signals located just 100kHz apart due to it's narrow filters and fine tuning. RDS is also a neat feature.

For shortwave reception I usually stick to my Tecsun PL-880, and of course airspy hf+ (dual port model).

I'd be interested to see XHData produce something more 'high-end.' They've done such a good job with the 808 that it seems they would only need to take those lessons and build on them, with features people might appreciate, like 'mute-less' tuning, and alternative antenna connections to name a couple.

The one thing that drives me nuts about the XHDATA is the airy white noise in the speaker when the volume is lowered. I've never seen anyone else complain about it, but it really gets on my nerves when I'm listening at low volume.

Hej Gill thanks for the info i have the Sihuadon D-808 bought mine two or three years ago I think but absolutely a lovely receiver I also have the Radiwow R-108 but thinking of buying Sihuadon R-108 also for, that radio has also have the amber color on the display. But otherwise, the Radiwow R-108 and Sihuadon R-108 also seem to be the same radio as far as I understand but lovely radio devices for very a good price take care and have a nice night in Montreal.

I have an older model XH 808 which is a great radio, my only problem is that on SW it will only scan to a max of 26 Mhz but I can manually tune 26-30 Mhz with great reception, is this scan feature normal?

I got my xh data 808 after seeing some reviews and everyone I saw had the blue/white light but mine came with the orange. I thought mine was maybe old and the newer ones were blue, but found out later that the newer ones are orange.. it doesn't matter but I kinda liked the blue light I kept seeing on the reviews.

The newer model Xhdata d808 is totally different internal then original Xhdata d808 model. Please update your video bought last week based on your video review. But after I bought, I find out that isn't not same as original Xhdata. Newer one is much more low quality 😔

Sent my Sihuadon back, as the orange display gives the readout a very washed out appearance, and makes it difficult to see! The white/blue of the original Xhdata is much sharper, giving a much clearer display.

Pity there is no improvement or extra features in the 2021 Sihuadon when compared to the 2018 Xhdata.
