So true! I just got a job and soon something was disturbing my spirit.
I told the Lord that I will not let the job be on my heart only him. So I wanted to make sure I don't worship the gift but rather worship the giver. I'm always conscious of things and make sure that God is the only one that will possess my heart and don't want that to be my focus or priority over the Lord. My heart only belongs to God. I appreciate the blessing but I shall never worship it or give it priority over my God.

In Exodus 20:3-5, and in Deuteronomy 4:15-19, God explains what is an idol?

The idol worshippers of the US are worshipping the image of the star spangled of heaven, through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem.

The idol worshippers of Israel are worshipping the image of the star remphan of heaven, through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem.

The idol worshippers of Canada are worshipping the image of the leaf of the maple tree of the earth, through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem.

The idol worshippers of Mexico are worshipping the image of the eagle of the earth, through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem.

The idol worshippers of Japan are worshipping the image of the sun of heaven, through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem.

Idolatry is through the pledge of allegiance to the flag and anthem.

When the king of Babylon the great played the anthem at the sound of music the Babylonians fell down to the ground and worshipped the image of the gold statue of the earth.

When the US plays the anthem at the sound of music the US stand on their feet and worshipped the image of the star spangled of heaven with a song.

The idols of the nations are high and lifted up on a flag pole, and the blind ministers of God cannot see the idols of the nations, and because of their unbelief the idols are hid to them that are lost.

The US named their idol of heaven, "star spangled".

Israel named their idol of heaven, "star remphan" [ Acts 7:43 ]

Canada named their idol of the earth, "maple leaf".

Mexico named their idol of the earth, "eagle".

Japan named their idol of heaven, "circle of the sun".
