Brymen BM231/BM235: Adjust buzzer volume

Brymen BM231 is a great $100 multimeter, but it has quite loud beeper. It may be good for industrial environments, but in quiet environments it gets annoying really quickly.

By changing one resistor I was able to solve this problem. Beeper's series resistor was originally 300 Ohm and I replaced it with 4.3 kOhm resistor. That reduced the sound enough. I tried 15 kOhm resistor in my second BM231, but I think that might be too high.

The Best Solution to reduce the buzzer sound is to put some Isotape into the small hole of the buzzer and then add some Isotape on top of it.
With this solution, every multimeter is much much quieter than if you just replace the resistor.

Hi. I also have a problem with the buzzer, but I don't really know what to do. The sound is heard, but at a reduced speed. Like watching a movie, but you reduce the speed. That's exactly how the sound is heard. If you have an email address, I can make a short video so you can hear it exactly. Sorry to bother you. Maybe you can help me. I have a - UT 171B. Thanks

a simpler solution would be a sticker over the beeper hole, just saying.

WTF do you mean loud. My ears are fading and I could not hear this frequency... Need the loudest beeper I can find...
