On April 11th, Susan Boyle was on Britains Got Talent. A 47 year old lady who lives with her cat and has never been kissed takes the stage. She sings a song so fitting from the musical Les Miserables called "I Dreamed A Dream."

I am speechless. I had to post this in High Def. Enjoy!

This was a triumph not just for Susan Boyle, but for everyone who's been rejected, looked down on, judged by outward appearance, or been made to feel like they'll never accomplish anything. All these years later, this still hits me in the feels, and never ceases to give me a lift when I'm feeling down. So many people just need a chance, and for someone to believe in them. Susan made believers out of all of them, and by extension gave hope, joy, and happiness to all of the downtrodden and forgotten among us. Bravo!

I have watched this 100 times or more, and never tire of this lady. If you have a dream, never give up. Work, and continue to dream.

After all these years I still come back to see this now again to cheer myself up and remind myself that in life you should never ever judge a book by its cover

15 years later, I still have to watch this once in a while.

There are a few lessons I get from Ms. Boyle. Never judge someone for their looks, or if they act a little off. I don't know what their story is and what gifts they may have to share with people. If people are brave enough and work hard, they can achieve their dream. Ms. Boyle is extremely brave, and she had to have worked hard to sound so good. She has a gift, her voice. But she still had to work to sound so good.

I love the little smirk right before she sings. She knows she's going to blow their minds.

All those people judging her, thinking she has no chance, and she blows them away. Love this.

Every once in a while, when I want to feel good, I watch Susan Boyle's audition. It never fails to bring me to tears. I still get chills and I've watched it countless times.

Simon has actually said Susan's audition changed his life. He saw how he treated her and hated himself in that moment, and wanted to change. And he did. He became her manager, and he was never that cynical after that.

0:58 Simon: "How old are you Susan?" Susan: "I'm 47....and that's just one side of me". I love the confidence in Susan's verbal and body language response to Simon like "I won't take any crap from you. Just watch me".

Susan Boyle’s Audition: The Moment That Changed the World Forever

In 2009, an unassuming woman stepped onto the stage of Britain’s Got Talent. She wore a simple beige dress, her curly hair untamed, and her face full of hope. The audience snickered. The judges raised their eyebrows. No one, not a single person in that room, expected anything extraordinary. Then, Susan Boyle opened her mouth—and the world was never the same.

From the first notes of “I Dreamed a Dream”, something shifted. The room, once filled with doubt and quiet ridicule, fell silent. Within seconds, gasps of disbelief rippled through the crowd. Simon Cowell, known for his withering skepticism, looked stunned. Amanda Holden’s eyes welled with tears. The audience leaped to their feet in a standing ovation before she had even finished. In that moment, Susan Boyle didn’t just sing—she shattered the world’s expectations.

What made this audition the greatest of all time wasn’t just her voice, though it was breathtaking. It was the raw, undeniable proof that the world had been wrong. People had judged her by her appearance, by her age, by her awkwardness. But when she sang, she forced them to confront their own prejudice. She made the world realize how quick we are to dismiss those who don’t fit our idea of “star quality.” Her voice was not just beautiful—it was a reckoning.

Susan Boyle’s audition wasn’t just a personal triumph; it was a global awakening. Within days, the clip went viral, breaking records across the internet. Millions who had never watched Britain’s Got Talent before were now sharing her performance, watching it again and again, crying at the sheer power of her story. She became a symbol for every person who had ever been underestimated, ignored, or told they weren’t enough.

More than a decade later, her audition remains unmatched. It is not just the best audition—it is the most human, the most humbling, and the most inspiring. It reminds us that talent knows no age, no background, no appearance. It proves that dreams can come true, no matter how long they have been waiting. And above all, it teaches us that sometimes, the most extraordinary voices come from the most unexpected places.

Susan Boyle didn’t just win over the judges that night. She won over the world.

2020 has not been kind. As I’m sure we all think. COVID, wife wanted a divorce and wanted nothing to do with our son. Made the most painful decision to give him up for adoption to a couple who can’t have children. My biggest hero, Edward Van Halen, dies of cancer. Just thought of this video today because I haven’t seen it in a while. And it gives me so much hope in life. None of those folks expected much of Susan. But as many have previously said, that little smile she gives before she sings just reeks of confidence. She knew she had them. Thanks for giving me hope today, Susan. God bless.
