The whole album is a joy. It feels like a lost 80s classic

This whole album is an instant classic, a masterstroke of New Wave & dark synth, the lyrics insightful & well thought. Billy's voice is so perfect for this 80's inspired brilliance, his guitar work genius as usual & yet this album is as modern in my eyes as ever. As in the 1980s, we live in a cold, materialist age of narcissism and lack of authenticity flavoured Zeitgeist, disconnected through tech and our own Brave New World desires.

Human nature doesn't change and Societies are mere glacial pace circles, slowly revolving back to their earlier points, mutated ever slightly, recursive.


This and 'The Tipping Point' album by Tears for Fears definitely right up there on my songlist. Kalandra's awesome 'The Line' album is probably my third favourite new-ish album I just can't get enough of these. These three albums regularly play in the background as I work on my art.

+ Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson's 'The Future Bites' album a close 4th.

This has been my favorite album I've purchased this year.

Just discovered this album a few days ago from being on a Perfect Circle kick. Fantastic! My wife loves it too - we picked up immediately on the parallels to Depeche Mode and new wave. She puts it at like 1985-86 (but with modern tech) which was when 80s pop was turning to crap, but a few good groups were still kicking ass. Billy and his pals are one of those groups, just plucked out of time and deposited here for us to enjoy.
