Romania provide support to the Slovenian authorities in extinguishing forest fires
Following the activation of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, the Government of Romania decided to grant emergency external humanitarian aid to the authorities of the Republic of Slovenia.
Thus, with the support of the Ministry of National Defense, 3 aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force, configured for firefighting, carried out an international support mission in Slovenia starting from 23.07.2022 to limit the spread of forest fires, which have taken hold on their territory. The two Spartan aircraft prepared for firefighting and a Hercules used for logistical transport arrived in Slovenia on Saturday.
The aid is granted based on the request for international assistance formulated by the government of the Republic of Slovenia through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
The Romanian state has also been involved in supporting the authorities in Greece with specialized intervention teams, at the request of the Greek government, through the European Protection Mechanism Civil.
