🇲🇽 FAVA BEANS, NOPALE AND EPAZOTE SALAD: Slice the cactus in small pieces. Grill the fava beans on the stove. In a pot, add boiled water, Fava beans, salt and epazote stems. When boiling, use a spoon to scoop out the impurities floating at the top. When ready, serve in a bowl and enjoy.

🇲🇽 NOPALE SOPE WITH BEEF AND CHEESE: Tortilla making - flatten the dough made with nopal dough in the tortilla press then place on the grill to make the tortilla. Make multiple halfway cuts in the cactus. On a hot grill, place the cactus down. Add beef on the grill. Season the beef with salt. Add salt on the cactus. Add more oil. Flip the beef and cactus. Add cheese on beef.

🇲🇽 NOPALE WATER: Add chopped cactus to blender, then pineapple, then sugar, then water and blend.

🇲🇽 GRILLED NOPAL TACO MADE WITH THINLY SLICED RIB EYE, REFRIED BEANS, THIN CHEESE CRUST, CARAMELIZED ONIONS AND ANT EGGS: place olive oil on cactus and sprinkle rock sea salt. Place it on the grill. Flip the cactus until ready. Take a small bowl and cut a circle into the cactus. Add the black beans and mozzarella cheese on top of the cactus. Place it face down on the grill. Add ribeye steak on the grill. Flip continuously until golden brown. Place the cactus down on a chopping board. Add beef on top. Add the ant eggs on the grill. Add the caramelized onions on the grill. Add the grilled ant eggs onto cactus base, then caramelized onions, then a slice of avocado.

🇲🇽 CAPRESE SALAD WITH NOPAL: Take the cactuses and cut circles into it. Add lime and squeeze it onto the cactus. Mix it around with your fingers. Cut tomatoes into slices and put it to the side. Shred Oaxacan cheese. Cut another lime and place to the side. Sprinkle salt on tomatoes as well as lime juice. | Plating: place tomato on plate, then cactus, then tomatoes and repeat until plate is full. Add Oaxacan cheese in the center of the plate. Pour a little pesto sauce over the plate. Add pumpkin seeds on top. Add cilantro sprouts and leaves.

🇲🇽 CORN BREAD WITH NOPAL JELLY & PRICKLY PEAR ICE CREAM: Dice boiled cactus. In a hot pan, add sugar to caramelize. Add reduction of goat milk with sugar and diced nopales and mix. Add water to ensure it doesn’t stick to the pan and burn. Mix. Turn off the fire. | Plating: Add cornbread, then Nopale syrup/jelly. Add caramelized popcorn. Add flowers. Add crumbled cookies. Add a scoop of tuna fruit ice cream.

I’ve been eating cactus my whole life and it wasn’t until I was older that I realized it was strange to other people. I love it grilled, in eggs, in pico de gallo, and in so many other dishes. If you get past the slimy part, it really is an amazing thing to try and is very important in Mexican food. If ever given the opportunity, try it!

Sunny’’s food channel is the only one I’ve seen focusing in Nopales, and that is remarkable. Is very nice to give a windows to the world of such of underrated food such as the nopal.

I wish we have all these authentic Mexican cultural foods in the USA cities. Watching this video is making me super hungry and I want to go to Mexico City and eat all these delicious foods.

This plant is wonderful! I was diagnosed with stomach ulcers and find out that side effects from medicine I was taken were worse and will affect my heart. Getting out of the hospital one day, I remembered my grandma told me once that nopal will refresh my stomach, so I went to a mexican place where they make fresh juice and ask for nopal and water shake. The attendant keeps on asking me " are you sure, that's all you want?" I was still filling sick and nauseated. After taking like half of the drink I felt great. I started making this drink at home every week for 3 months and got cured. One day my coworker told me she was filling seak from her stomach and I advised to drink cactus, she was Caucasian and did not what kind of cactus to buy and I show her on a website, that day I kept on reading more about cactus and find out that by eating it or on a drink raw will neutralize the stomach acidity and that is why I was feeling so good after drinking it. I try this drink with a person that had a bad hangover and it work. I am not lying this happened to me and I have been able to help a lot of my closed friends just with cactus drink.

Nopales are literally on the Mexican flag 🇲🇽. That’s how important nopales are to the Mexican people. Great way to highlight a staple that rarely is mentioned. Great video.

Nopales are pretty common here in Texas 🤠 I think it tastes like greenbeans with the slime of okra. It's especially tasty pickled and loses the slimeiness. It is definitely an underrated food! 💚🌵🌮

As a Mexican I love to include cactus in all of my meals, it is so rich and healthy, I love to include them on my diet plan, morning scrambled eggs with cactus it one of my favorite breakfast meals, great video!!!!

I live in Los Angeles and I recently started to include cactus with my burritos when I saw some people do it at my local food truck. I actually like it…its texture is like Bell Peppers to me. Nopales…now I know the word in Spanish! 😃

Those farmer's bare hands peeling the sharp needles is priceless. Mexican cuisine is magical, especially if you try it from taquerias run by abuelitas who do everything from scratch.
