Twenty years ago it took entire studios to animate something like that this. Now one dedicated fan can do this themselves. This is pretty cool.

For those saying this looks crazy accurate to the original movie, that’s partly because the person who made this is actually works for ILM, which is the studio that made the CGI for the Michael Bay Transformers movie.

No wonder the dude has got some serious skills!

The exact only part that conclusively proved this was fan made is the awkward stiffness of Optimus Prime at the end there. Literally everything else you could've told me was an actual movie clip and I would've believed you wholesale.
It's always completely stunning to see individual animators able to match the absurd intricacy and weight that goes into the michael bay transformers, especially during transformation.

edit: to popular criticism, I will explain why it’s the actual movements in robot mode, and the drift into the transformation, sort of undermines the realism; it’s a bit stiff and clunky. The transformation, models, and set ARE perfect though!!! I *_LOVE_* the sound design as well, it’s actually just peak

The thing that impresses me the most is the firetruck coming into the city. It's been animated so well and integrated into the original footage; I almost believe you took a real firetruck and filmed this scene yourself.
