For any folks wanting to find some exceptional poke, I HIGHLY recommend Hōnaunau Poke Shop, about 20 minutes south of Kailua-Kona on Highway 11. Very close to Captain Cook. We went there immediately following our kayak/snorkel trip to Captain Cook Monument. It was some of THE best food we had on our entire trip! (Bonus tip: for you spice lovers, I recommend ordering the Spicy Garlic Poke. It definitely packs a punch! 🔥)

Absolutely loved Kona! We travelled from Ireland last January we loved it so much we are going back next January! Ali'i Drive market is fantastic, lots of great stalls, coffee and food. Big shout out to Kona Wave cafe for excellent acai bowls 😊

Hello! I'm working on plans for my husband and I to visit Kona (1st trip!) in April for his 40th! Will will also be leaving our three kiddos (5-10y old) for the first time- but with my parents so we know they will be just fine! We really want to stay somewhere with a calm and sandy beach! Recommendation? We love coffee and can't wait to visit the small farms!
