I love my Focus 2007 gasoline 1.6, 150.000 km up to this moment, I absolutely have no reason to buy a new car. Just a regular minimal maintenance and that is it. Thank you Ford, perfect car! No rust, garage all the time.

I have a late 2007 Focus mk2 1.6 tdci currently on 234000 miles (mostly motorway miles). It is still going strong. I hope I haven't jinxed it by mentioning the miles it has achieved lol. I do all the repairs and servicing myself.

I think this is a car that I would love. I love naturally aspirated engines with all of their power high up on the revrange, and if the cornering gives as much confidence as you say, I think that this may be a perfect car for me

I own a 1.4 2007 and a 1.6 zetec estate and are great cars.Have to keep an eye on sills for corrosion and use a suitable treatment.Regular oil changes are the secret to keeping them going.

The 2008 Mark 2 face-lift was what you really wanted. Perfected the looks with the handling and everything else.
My 2010 zetec is at 165, 000 miles and going strong. No major issues.

Thank you for your video and review! Could NOT agree more to it. Years ago, I had a same focus with automatic gearbox-I LOVED it! In the meantime, I had a 1.5 liter EcoBoost which had a massive engine defect, forcing me to find a quick and reliable replacement. As result: I am drivong a 1.6 liter Ford Focus C-Max, 5-speed manual… What a wondeful feeling! All your aspects are exactly my opinion as well about this car. Enjoy it… Cheers!

Fellow Focus enthusiast here. Thanks for the video. Having spent some time in Mk2s and owned an Mk1 I can get behind every word you said. As far as 'people's cars' go it doesn't get much better than that. 🙂

Yes, the high clutch bite point is a Focus thing. They're all like that, so rest assured there's nothing wrong with your car :)

I bought a 2nd hand 2006 Focus MK2 1.8 Ghia Sedan in 2016 in Malaysia, it was already 10 years old at the time.. Now it's 2024, the car is still solid.. And because it's such a rare car in this part of Malaysia, it quite a head turner too..

Got a 2005 1.6 tdci with 125000km. My first car and I really love it. It handles very well and it has great space to carry stuff and people around. The seats are quite comfortable for longer drives. It’s not a fast car indeed but perfect for beginners AND it has pretty decent mileage!

Best car I’ve owned. Needed to sort out the boot hinge leak (common but easy fix) and had to get instrument cluster re-soldered but it’s great! 2010 Focus Titanium

currently own and daily the 2.0 duratec, titanium spec (the 2.0 is shared with the Mk3 Mondeo. still hella fun to stuff a 145hp 2.0 into a focus)
bought in dec 2009 and have seen no reason to replace it other than age (which might be becoming the issue)
very well kitted out for a 2005 ford (leather interior, adjustable lumbar support, ac, heated f/r screens, fog lights electric mirrors, windows, auto lights, auto wipers, anti dazzle mirrors, adjustable steering - comfort to make it less direct, normal for, well "every day" driving and sport which stiffens up the steering to make it more direct when driving. (mine hasnt left "sport" since I got it)

one thing to note, the focus comes with a 55l fuel tank and the biggest boot space in its class.

I have a ford c max MK2 and it's basically the focus but bigger. It's so much fun to chuck around. You've talked me into buying one of these too for work. Thanks 😃

I have a Zetec 1.6 automatic with only 70k miles. The biggest job its had is a new catalytic converter as the engine light was on from the original converter.
It starts every time and I'm aiming for 100k miles. The automatic gearbox makes it very easy to drive.

Owned my 2007 Sea grey 1.8tdci Zetec Climate SportsPack from new, 17 years on and it’s not going anywhere ( I mean that it will always be part of my varied fleet, I don’t mean that it’s broken down 😂)

I still have the 2005 zetec in the same tonic blue colour, I'm still smiling the value when I bought it for 8K, only grumble is 5 gears no sixth so noisy in long distance driving. I love this classic soon.
