In this video I discuss how to answer "what are your strengths?", not easy to answer, creating a video for what are your strengths, why should we hire you, why should I hire you, same answer, selecting you as a candidate, positive things about yourself that you consider strengths, what does the interviewer consider to be strengths, an example, a sample answer, you consider it a strength, the interviewer considers it a weakness, job requirements, and how I would answer if I was a candidate.

This is another video in my weekly series called "Q&A". I will be answering viewers' questions on job interviews and hiring as well as entrepreneurship, and general business questions, including "What are your Strengths?" and many more. Please see the other videos in my "Get Hired" and "Entrepreneurship" playlists for more tips.

In addition to ticking off the technical requirements for the job, emphasize your soft skills that will make you a good fit, too.

After watching your videos I arrived to the conclusion that job candidates should answer job interviews based on what is necessary about the job, don't say things that are not that connected to the job you are applying for. All your videos are a big help for me except that I'm a little nervous about my future interview hahaha I hope I get hired though. Your videos are really helpful. Thank you very much sir.

In hindsight it seems so obvious to focus on strengths that are related to the position.

This advice has helped me SO MUCH during interviews. This entire channel is awesome.

What if the interviewer asks, “what would your supervisor say is your greatest strength/weakness?” That “supervisor” qualifier makes a big difference, doesn’t it?

Thank god for this, i was binge watching most of ur videos from yesterday and I had my interview just now. I guessed i nailed it coz the hiring manager told me how impressed he was and he will get the company hr to be in touch with me soon with the offer letter so they can get me on board asap!

I just wanted to pointed out that although watching and taking pointers from this “guide videos” are good, any candidate should always stay true to what they know according to their experiences and be aware of all the points they said coz some interviewers will jumped back into the same question just to see your consistency in answering. Also, please do not stress yourself too much on how you going to word it out.

The hiring manager told me at the end of the interview that he didn’t care much about the cv, he more care on HOW i was answering all the questions, how my interpersonal skills are. So again, be gentle and choose a soft and firm words and be confident during your speech delivery .

May god blesses you and your family!

Great advice as usual. Spot on and absolutely the truth. Candidates forget that they are also competing directly against the others being interviewed for the opening. Critical to give the best answer and separate yourself from your competitors on that big day. It’s normally the answer to one question that decides.

I am a thinker before answering questions as well. Sometimes I need a minute before giving an answer depending on the question as I want to ensure I'm giving the right answer. In an interview, which I'm not great at, the questions seem to come fast and have little time to formulate an answer I feel is adequate.

Thank you for the advice and video.

I’ve been watching your videos and I’ve learned so much already!

I’ve had so many interviews and for years I thought I was just a “bad interviewer” but your videos made me realize that I’ve been so busy with just having answers to these questions; instead of focusing on the framing of the question and the right answer format.

Wish I could show this to a younger version of myself (profile pic is dated) but at least now I can use this info in future job interviews!

I completely understand how "what are your strengths" is the same question as "why should we hire you..."

which is why it slightly throws me off when both of these questions are asked in the same interview.
