All true, but worth mentioning that even though you can open up communication on a repeater 72 miles away, that doesn't mean than the signal received from your transmitter is intelligible enough to be understood once

A cracking little radio. So cheap it’s definitely worth getting a couple.

Yeah, I got a couple, and am really happy (once I did the volume mod). Your vids are so useful to explain that these are not VHF... But you can just listen to VHF right? Still, worth doing this update too. Nice 1

I have tested the 2022 model it does receive and tx on 2 meters yes I also advise that the antenna may only be 70cm but I was able to transit to my 2 meter radio from over 50 feet away and could hear GBWR from weston Super Mare .I agree TX is not advised on 2 meters.

Beware the claims of eBay sellers, especially if they reference someone else's videos.

At least, It still looks cool enough so I can use mine to look like 'Jason Bourne' as I run trough the 'Trafford Centre' shouting 'Initiate Protocol GO GO!'

It's not duel band but can be programmed on UHF and VHF and do work. Like you said it will just send all to the board and will burn out. I did try to modify and did work with tuned antenna. Just not worth it as cosmetics didn't hold up and fell apart.

To add the BF-T1 is part 95 type accepted in the USA meaning it is legal to use on GMRS band as a GMRS radio.
The BF-T1 will not transmit on VHF because the antenna is part of the tuned circuit. if you were to correct the antenna the radio will transmit but the filters and such are not suited for VHF and thus random emissions are very likely. Just dont do it is the easiest decision to make.
470 - 520 MHz is largely reserved for television broadcasts in most country's but in places like Australia the 472 (or such)MHz part of this band is used for their UHF CB band. IDK if this radio is legal to use on that band though. 480 - 512 MHz in the US is sometimes used as a public service band also but I think most of that is gone by now.

Just looked at the UK Beofeng website and the T1 Mini has a power output of 0.5/1W so does that mean that if it's set to 0.5W it would be legal to use as a walkie-talkie on the 446 frequency.

Suggestion for a video: how could we humans improve our ham radios, antennas and repeaters to not broadcast into space? I've seen a study that says TV is the greatest offender, with constant and powerful transmissions all the time, but what about ham radio: what can we do? Question from someone concerned with our leakage transmissions going into space. Thanks for your time! 73s de PU2POD / Brazil.

So, just to be clear. These are for CB use only or are they just for use while on a boat at sea?

Well done Louis this radio is the only UHF for 400MHZ 4700MHz only

Why do sellers make claims like that, that´s just unserious! And the same goes for the manufacturers! Why does the radio even allow transmissions on frequencies where it would potentially kill itself? The radio would be an interesting bargain on its own, just by being what it actually is: a small and lightweight and very affordable UHF walkie talkie!

Will this transmit on half a watt between 450-460mhz?

I'm going to get a Baofeng ham radio soon. Can you tell me which ones you recommend? Are they all 5w or can you get any with genuinely more?
