She killed what was left of her innocence. She killed her internal voices. This is a brilliant scene

How ironic that she hated Safiye but became like her

Both are right here at some points. Anastasia had a happy life on Ahmed's side. As haseki sultan also. But, when Ahmed was gone, she had to deal with a loooot of things (halime, dilruba, safiye, iskender, Osman). As valide sultan she had peace for some years until Murad tried to end the regency. Then Ibrahim turned against her because of who, zarife, lol.

She was forced to become heartless cause her innocence caused her and her loved ones harm. Her father was executed by safiya that day she learnt power means a lot in this palace to survive. Then her mother died then her sister by safiya she couldn't even meet her properly then Ahmed died at a young age she was left with her children her youth got distroyed she had to protect her children then her mercy towards Mustafa killed her children Osman and Mehmet. And these lead to her becoming stone hearted cause to reduce pain she become like this. Many people say hurrem as the powerful sultan but for me it's kosem cause hurrem had her lover with her Suleiman. Having a husband with you is another power you can share anything with eachother which you can't with your children but with kosem she had no one even her children never appreciated her.

This shows her tactic to do what she needs to do for power; denial. It started early on, she denied taking revenge on Safiye for her fathers murder. That was one of the first lies to herself, his death caused by Safiye was her biggest motivation to become who she was. Here again she denies, because she is indeed a murderer. Had she been honest and transparent with Murad from the start, then things wouldn't be so messy, more trustful and Murad would probably have been more willing to listen to her. Either way it's good drama for the series about harsh times.

This scene we would call “yüzleşme” in Turkish, means literally facing your own self.

After this confrontation of Anastasia, Kosem became mad.
Unlike what her alter ego said, she didn't really have fault on Ibrahim and Bayezid ( they brought their end themself very well). Osman case was more complicated but when he get ridd of her son and blame her for that ( wrong even if Osman was manipulated his fault is till here, and even if Kosem make too much independant move on his back it was a stressful posiiton). But in the end he was one of the few characters in the show who recognize his fault and ask Kosem to forgive him, the most tragic he was young and have the time to not make mistakes again that he regrets ( even if Kosem make a riot first in the end she try to save him).
Murad and Kasim more complicated( but Murad was still a pain for me, she always clean up his mess when he execute a lot of innocents in the case were Farya pregnant was attacked, make hypocrite law, do a lot of crisis which finish in tragedy like Geverhan and don't see his fault on this, etc..., okay Kosem had fault on this, but in my opinion he is the most to blame on this, I really dislike that the show butchered him and the relationship with his mother and Ayse. He was a strong sultan even if he make big fault like restoring the fratricidal law and make hypocrite law with death penalty).
But, as she is in pain she blame herself for all what happen and now she would do anything to control the State because it is the only promise she could keep ( include unforgivable move).

Anastasia reminded Kosem that she lost her innosense

Anastasia however is right that valide sultan ended two of her sons, even if it was for the good of dynasty, because Murad became.. Murad and Ibrahim became Mustafa...
It's like sultan Suleiman. Both decided to act under the position they hold, the very same one.

Anastasia should be act till episode 20 before beren enter the series. They really messed up in this. Beren shouldn't be in this series. Nurgul is the perfect one because Beren is totally different

All 3 actresses look alike. Especially the youngest and oldest Kosem.

Hurrem had Sulaiman. Kosem had herself.
