This webinar was recorded March 6, 2024, presented by The Bauta Family Iniiative on Canadian Seed Security. Speakers: Robin Morgan (Breadlab), Michelle Carkner (University of Manitoba).

Plant breeders put a lot of effort into developing new, high quality varieties. Have you ever wondered who tells them what to breed for? And how do we decide what makes a quality variety? These are the questions being asked at Washington State University’s Breadlab, where researchers and plant breeders work closely with farmers and bakers through participatory plant breeding (PPB). Join us to hear from Robin Morgan who will challenge assumptions about the plant breeding process and share about working with farmers to shift priorities in grain breeding.
