Very Protective Mother Raccoon Runs For Her Baby

The reason the baby coon was shaking is because it is cold. Baby Coons have little hairs which release heat faster and that is why they are all snuggled on top of each other needing constant warmth.

Funny story - I had a small family of raccoons living somewhere near or in my yard. A mother, four babies, and a couple of teenage looking ones. My mulberry tree was dropping berries onto a tarp I had put down to kill weeds. The mulberries started to ferment. One night I heard raucous screeching, and the next morning there were piles of raccoon poo everywhere. My outdoor cam captured one heck of a drunken raccoon party!

I have several cats and there are two racoons and a possum that come to eat with my kitties. They are cool critters, my cats get along with them. I dont mind them eating occasionally . They will sit and look into the house through the sliding glass doors.
