Former Lubaga RCC Anderson Burora, who was remanded last week after being charged with promoting hate speech and spreading malicious information against Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, has been further remanded until Friday. This is to allow Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi to deliver his ruling on the charge sheet. According to the prosecution, all information recorded in the charge sheet regarding the counts is accurate.

However, Burora’s defense lawyers declined to accept the charge sheet, stating it is defective and incurable because it does not specify whether Anderson Burora is in charge of the X account under the name HADA B. Meanwhile, NUP party member Fatuma Nansubuga has been granted 1 million cash bail. She was arrested and charged with inciting violence and threatening to attack the Speaker of Parliament.

Why would you keep someone in jail when the prosecutor doesn’t even have a charge sheet? Additionally the crime he committed was not that serious as to deny him bail.
