Anybody who is focused on diversity is too focused on the exterior of the person

Liz is a good frontwoman for conservatives. She’s no legal scholar but few of us are. She seems sincere, caring and empathetic yet thoughtful, introspective and intelligent. She’s a decade or more older than her
questioner but isn’t condescending.
Good job, Liz.

I had nothing growing up. Single mom raised. I went to college and worked the graveyard shift to pay for it. Got home from work, slept, studied and started all over again. Screw people that say I didn’t have the opportunity cuz of my race.

I was raised to judge ppl by the content of their character but grew up in a world where that was not the norm I wish I had system built for my success

affirmative action is the only policy that is systemically racist in this country. Now it’s time to end the practice at the workplace.

Affirmative Action began during the 60s. The students of that day have not been students for many decades. How many decades of letting students bypass the acceptable norms are enough? It was the students of the inner cities that were most discriminated against. Now most of our schools have been completely dumbed down. Many students leave school unable to read, write or do math properly and they certainly don’t know how their government is really supposed to function! That was the plan. Maybe they should give students of every area a break getting into college. Most of the educational system is equally dumbed down!

Beautifully said. She is always very eloquent and neutral, doesn't try to "laugh at" or andwer with ironic responses like Kirk or Matt

Since when did diversity become ethnicity?

Unions are more necessary now, then ever before.

I'm reminded of the West Wing episode. The Supremes, touched on this issue with the line... '... affirmative action recipients are statistically more likely to succeed and contribute to society.'.
Affirmative action AND unions ARE NEEDED RIGHT NOW.

Whoah, as part of the ironworkers union i have to disagree when she said that unions are harmful. We provide highly skilled workers, and our union protects our labor rights.

You can not have equal outcome in a free country period. In a free country where equal opportunities are provided it is effort + luck + skills + proviciency of individuals that affects results. You can not have equal outcome unless you force it.

Equal opportunity not equal outcome. It's no good for anyone

Mmmhhhhmmm. I used to have the same mindset but changed my opinion, oddly enough, all on my own. Question, do those who actually believe this have any other staff on their team who are black, asian, etc. who are equally qualified?

Also aren't African Americans still a minority in this country so realistically if we believe this, would any intelligent African American get a fair chance?

I'll give you an example: Say there are 100 White people and 25 African American people. Let's say 25% of the African American group are qualified for a job, say welding. Let's say 25% same for the White people. 25% of 25 is roughly 6 and 25% of 100 is 25. You have 10 positions open. Who do you think is going to be hired more? All 25 of the 100 whites are qualified same as the 6 African Americans. Hmmmm. Who do you think corporations will choose? 25 to 6 who are all qualified. Hmmmm.

Also, does she really believe that affirmative action is solely based on race, that someone who gets into college thanks to affirmative action isn't qualified? You do realize there is an interview process, grades are still looked at, etc. Matter of fact, how many "qualified" rich kids who get into college are actually qualified? How many scandals have we had where someone wealthy tried to buy their way in. Hmmmm? It's a mystery only Mystery Inc. can solve.
