Hey John, first of all, hats off for creating this video, really informative stuff. Just a quick question, everything you did with the rack instrument, isn’t that also doable with a simple instrument track?
I mean, I don’t see the advantage of setting up Cubase with rack folders if you can do the same thing with a regular instrument track.
For example, if you create a Kontakt instrument track and load your samples, say VI1 and VI2, then set the MIDI on VI1 to channel 1 and VI2 to channel 2, and create two MIDI tracks routed to those channels, you can play both samplers from your MIDI tracks.
So basically, you can do the same thing you showed in the video, but just using a simple instrument track instead of a rack instrument. Which makes me wonder what’s the benefit of doing it with racks in this case if you can have a better minimalistic uncluttered view with less folders when using instrument track instead of a rack?
It’s like, in older Cubase versions that wasn’t possible, right? Only recently they added the ability to share multiple MIDI tracks from the same Kontakt instance using a simple instrument track? Before, it was only possible with rack instruments? Because like I said, now it seems possible with instrument tracks too.

Im confused 😅 because i have the same setup but using an instrument track, i have one instanse that has 7 midi tracks comming out of it for each articulation, im still trying to understand the difference

I can't hang an effector on each individual track when working with a rack track, is there a feature or way to make this possible?

So this is just Kontakt then, which doesn't need the rack at all does it?
