Played beautifully with passion. I relate to this song in that it is how I felt about my mother leaving me as a very young child. Leaving me to be fostered around a variety of guardians and different schools in different States. Always wondering why I did not matter and watching other children with envy as their mothers doted and cared about them with love and affection. It was all inexperience for me but needed just the same. However I survived without it. That's why I relate to this song. It is so true for me.

Dolly Parton covered Randy Vanwarmer's song - not the other way around as a lot of people mistakenly believe. While the song can be considered a "break-up song, " I read a number of years ago that Mr. Vanwarmer actually wrote the song reflecting back about his father's sudden death -- when Randy was only a teenager. Apparently, he was still dealing with the loss of his Dad when he and his girlfriend broke up. All those undealt with feelings of grief broke through to become this wonderful song.

I know, it's happened a lot to me over the years and now it's why I'm not particularly very fond of people because most sling B.S., lie and are looking for a free ride.... then when things get bad or go wrong.... they just What a sad life we all live all because people can't be real, honest and faithful....! =)
