Sarkozy corruption trial: Ex-French president sentenced to one year behind bars

Judges found former president Nicolas #Sarkozy #guilty of trying to bribe a judge and of influence-peddling on Monday and sentenced him to three years in jail, with two years suspended. Sarkozy, who led #France from 2007 to 2012, had denied any wrongdoing, saying he was the victim of a witch-hunt by financial prosecutors who used excessive means to snoop on his affairs.

So he gets only gets 3 years(2 years of that suspended)and he does 1 year at home on a a corrupt system....He should be in jail.

This is shameful, one year prison is nothing against the magnitude of the crime.
People get way more for far less.
Bearing in mind he is now a regular citizen, this disgraceful!!!!

Imagine ALL corrupt people being sentenced for their wrongs they've committed. There would be hardly no politicians, business and religious leaders etc left in the world
