Well I'm gonna say it. I reckon Jett learnt something from this session with AJ. Watching him at Salt Lake 1 he just looked so much more relaxed and confident. I reckon those 1 handed drills and the attack position deets have helped him a bunch. The kids gonna be unstoppable!

AJ and Jett giving back !!
Champions both.
And it has nothing to do with race wins, or points tally.

I’m very new to motocross (been on a track 5 times). This video is amazing. Thank you so much AJ and Jett. Those riders are so lucky to get that expertise

Love you AJ, your logical approach got me back into the sport enjoying it now as an adult more than I ever did even as a teenager/kid. The biggest thing I’ve noticed that makes it hard for people to feel like their attack position is working for them is that most people ride in too low of a gear while trying to develop these good habits and consequently end up having a hard time initiating their core and upper body into their acceleration.

Love your vids and crew. I would love to take a class from your point of view n compare it to the Mx factory. Tyler’s training!! I will admit I watched all of his vids for basics 2-3 years ago. My riding could be more enjoyable with proper trading good habits vs bad habits

The Bernie became an MX teaching tool. You took it to the next level Aj. Thanks.

The biomechanics term for the leg component he is describing is called hip hinge. This is typically driver by hamstring and hip flexor shortness from too much sitting (called lower crossed syndrome). This also generates lots of back compensation (tucked butt) and responsible for most non traumatic back pain in developed world. I fix 75% of my patients pain/dysfunction who have lower crossed syndrome by restoring their flexibility and then once they have the needed flexibility, the strengthening finishes off the rest of their issue. This mechanism is what is used for the deadlift.

These videos are such a great help. I’ve been off the bike for quite a few years and never had any training. I’m planning on running some XC races once mid summer rolls around and these are letting me keep my old good habits and break my old bad ones. Thanks for doing these.

This immediately made me think of the analogy Ryno was talking about on the Gypsy podcast. With the exception of the ankles, having the the body flex characteristics similar to that of a tree provides the ideal form; planted and firm down low while allowing more movement as you progress upward 👍

It's interesting how awkward Jett looks while AJ talks through the positions, he's so talented that he doesn't think about this stuff!

Great stuff boys! I am constantly telling myself to continue the things I learn on your channel while on the track. No joke, this last few months I’ve become much faster by just riding smoother and more efficient. Thanks AJ! 👍🏼
