Oh, one more thing! It's really nice to have several extra batteries with you plus a huge memory card inside your GoPro, like 64 gigs! Perfect for long trips when USB is far away!

I've been using some generic ebay battery probably made by the same factory that make those one. I paid a similar price for 2 battery and charger. They work perfectly well and the charger works with the original gopro battery.

I would recommend batteries from DSTE, they are true 1300mAh capacity and have Japanese Sanyo A+ cells inside! I use them myself on HD and it works great (3 cold winter months so far), even got some for my friend with HD3 Silver :)

I use the Wasabi branded batteries and they appear to come from the exact same manufacturer. Even the packaging is the same--just with a different name. I've been happy with the ones I've used with the GoPro Hero2 and 3 both.

The wasabi power ones I just ordered for my hero2 are 1400mah. and they DO perform better than the gopros brand :) You also get 2 of them and a charger for 20-30$ depending on the dealer.

If you search Amazon, you can find just the charger as low as $8 and purchase the better batteries separately. The charger works very well. But... the battery can get knocked out if you bump it.

It seems some products will actually vary from camera to camera, Even if they are the same model. Kinda seems like Gopro still has a few bugs to work out on theyre product, but I have no complaints. They've already built one hell of a camera. Goodluck with whatever you go with bro! Let us know how it/they work out!

I think most of the extra price comes from export taxes and such. If you know someone in the US, you can get around that by having it shipped to your US friend, then he/she can ship it to you marked "gift"

Shoulda checked ebay bro.
I got the Wasabi pack (exact same) delivered to my door in Ontario Canada from Cali for $26.
Ebay has AMAZING deals for aftermarket "no-name" accessories. It's the first place I check. :)

I use wasaby batteries for the black edition and the last just a bit longer than the regular gopro batteries

hmmm interesting, i heared that the wasabi is not the best, but I'm glad to hear the opposite because soon I'm going to order my wasabi :-)
