Why is Vox obsessed with Sharks in Hazbin Hotel?

One interesting character trait that vox has which you might’ve picked up on is his obsession with sharks. So what’s the deal?

A while ago i did a short about vox’s pet shark called vark, who we see a couple times in old instagram posts.

Throughout season 1 of hazbin hotel we see that vox has a pair of cybernetically augmented sharks.

Alot of vox’s workers are also aquatic creatures, such as his assistant and baxter who we see on a screen.

There’s a couple interesting theories. The first is that vox loves sharks since he’s a businessmen and sharks are associated with being ruthless or crafty. Vox augments his employees and gives them upgrades, but that’s probably at a significant cost.

You could also argue he just loves sharks, a bit like how lucifer loves rubber ducks. What do you think? Let me know down below.

Another fun thought: sharks are attracted to electrical impulses in order to hunt. So people who take cameras underwater are more likely to have a shark get reeeaaaallll close as they check it out.

Maybe they like the electricity he gives off!

Fun fact sharks can actually make emotional attachments IRL, theres a story of this one lemon shark who would get jealously and snap at people of they got too close to her favorite person

I would love just him being fond of sharks (maybe just fond of the ocean) in general, but I also saw that sharks symbolize connection to the ocean, adaptability, survival, trust instincts and inner strength. That would be interesting to see in Vox as Season 2 rolls in.

I love the theory that while being partially robotic, he has shark traits. Like how Angel, Valentino, Husk, Alastor and so on all have insect/animal characteristics, Vox is a shark 😁

Vox, Lucifer, and Blitz love a certain animal. Vox loves sharks, Lucifer loves ducks, and Blitz loves horses which is pretty cute. Plus it would be cool to see Vark in the show, maybe Vox has a soft side to Vark despite being a ruthless businessman.😊😈💕🦈🦆🐴
