My mothers favorite song. We would listen to it while cleaning the house, every Sunday. She passed six years ago.. .and everytime I hear this song.. I clean through emotions beyond description. I'm thankful to be alive, to know I can hear this song just one more time.

I started a tradition of taking my Mom on a son/mom vacation for her birthday every April. 2019 we drove to the Grand Canyon and when I hit the wide open part of Arizona I played this song. Great memory!! Love you Mom, where are we going next!? 143 my Hero!!

I struck out on my own at 18. Moved almost 6 thousand miles away, to a new country, new language, to start a new life. Now I'm watching my own kids getting ready to start their lives. This song reminds me of all of it.

This song 20 plus years later is still amazing. It has definitely stood the test of time and you don't have to be a country music fan to appreciate it.

This song and cowboy take me away reminds me of circa 1999 when I was 22 and drove from Northern Colorado to Southern Texas in search of something I thought would be fun but didn't turn out to be. I would drive a lot while going to a school and when I would go from one town to the other comfort to Kerrville this would always be on the radio. I do miss that territory and land and would love to go back with my mom or someone special and enjoy the river walk and Fredericksburg again. :)

I listened to this song on repeat for weeks while contemplating the decision to move to the UK (i'm small town southern US) for 6 mos, with a guy I'd been long distance with for a year.
Best decision ive made and going back soon.
I'd never flown before, let alone visit another country, it was scary... But i had to come to terms that if i didn't try, even tho everyone and myself thought it was crazy, I'd never know.
We've been together going on 4 years :)
I wrote this out for anyone with a scary decision ahead, be safe but don't discount something that's out of your comfort zone ❤

Omg, I always loved this song, but when I just listened to it now, I burst out into tears! My older daughter is leaving for university in a few months and I can just picture us... I will miss her so much and as she'll be 10000km away, it won't be easy to see her! ♥

This song is even better as an adult, having gone and found those wide open spaces.

I grew up listening to the Dixie chick with my grandma that raised me my whole life. It was our tradition as a child that we ride in the car and listen to them on the way to school. She passed away 8 months ago and I had to move out of our home and decided to move to new York with my now husband. This song hits so hard but means so much. Most people don’t leave my small home town and I always wanted too but it’s very bitter sweet that my favorite person in the whole world had to die for me to able to leave..

I blasted this hard when it first came out. 20+ years later it means so much more to me now having done just what these lovely ladies sang about

I feel like this song was written about my daughter. She moved from Kentucky to California at 20 to pursue a dance career. It's been 6 years and she is still there and doing great and her dad still reminds her to check the oil.
