My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! The MB 190D 2.0 was specially popular among taxi drivers in Germany and also in other European countries thanks to their reliability and low fuel consumption. No turbocharger, no electronics or useless was relatively cheap to maintain. Yeah, the car was a bit sluggish, but was tough as nuts. They do not make them like that anymore.

Our w124 200d went 180 without going downhill. And indeed, the engine sound was agonizingly loud. Best car ever, driving always full throttle fully loaded, fuel consumption of 6.7L/100km and very comfortable.

What a great video. My dad bought one of those in the early 90s. Our first Merc in the family.
What can I say. Every single trip was a joy. He did 250.000 km with zero issues...

Love old mercs. When younger I remember being fascinated by going in old taxis that had done 800, 000 km and felt like new, as a passenger at least. Apparently in Africa the 190d has been run to 3m km quite often, and on the original engine

These mercs from these times, did exactly what they promissed, nothing less. My old 123 automatic 240d did the factory speed, after beeing a taxi....with the original engine! Amazing.
