Part 4 of the High Altitude Balloon project build- Arduino SD Card Data Logging a barometric pressure sensor. This update/tutorial covers the addition of the Adafruit 992- MPL115A2 Baro/Temp Sensor 5 volt 12C device. This will allow us temperature and altitude measurement. As well I add a simple voltage divider circuit to measure the on-board 7.4 volt LiPo battery voltage. Should work great.

Basically the plan is to launch a helium filled latex weather balloon to approximately 100,000 feet carrying a payload of cameras, experiments and data logging equipment. This will put it in the realm of near-space/stratosphere.

I will post the construction videos/tutorials as we progress through the build.

If your building a sensor for a balloon that you hope will reach 40km why use a sensor that only works to 10km? From Adafruit "Pressure sensing range: 500-1150 hPa (up to 10Km altitude)"???

Hi! Wich was the minimum pressure the MPL115A2 measured? The datasheet says only  500 hPa, but it's still too much for an high altitude ballon (500 hPa = 10 Km).

Thanks for making this series. I have been thinking about making a data logger for other types of data and didn't know where to start. Stumbling across your series was like striking gold.
However, in this episode you threw me for a loop. You set up a voltage divider between 5v and ground (with two equal resistors), yet instead of showing 2.5v on the analog input pin 0, it shows 5v. What ?
