I had the absolute pleasure of visiting with Andy, Hydro, and some of the other wonderful people on Justin Timberlake's tour this summer as the tour I was on happened to be in the same city for a date. All I can say is WOW!!! Besides being the absolute consummate professional Andy was kind enough to give us a little personal tour of his day to day life as Justin's FOH mixer. He went through his thought processes and procedures in more detail than I could have hoped for and was totally open to answering any questions I had. I can only hope to one day be in the same league as him.

Nice approach of handling the mix with dynamics instead of extreme EQing... They totally nail the sound beginning from backlines and mic choices.

I always thought that live shows should be done in mono, because how is the audience sitting on the left gonna know what's going on if you have a guitar panned hard right?

Notice how he's using Windows and not Mac. Just take notice.

I don't think that all of those Top Mixing engineers use Waves Plugins at all....

Interesting to me as after watching several videos on how this guy mixes -- He uses about ( I over state this a bit just because he uses things we also do not see ) -- $350, 000.00 of analog gear + $30, 000.00 of digital plugins which sounds nice BUT in the real world of the guy / gal who mixes on a $3000.00 mixer and using the included ( plugins ) for that mixer you are so very limited as to what kind of sound you can achieve compared to this guys unlimited analog / digital hybrid setup
