In September this year, the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) officially announced its entry into the fast-expanding space of population genomics with the launch of the In Our DNA SC project. In partnership with Helix, MUSC aims to recruit 100,000 participants from diverse communities across the state over the next four years. Similar to other population genomics projects, In Our DNA SC is aiming to increase the access to and impact of precision medicine. The initiative is unique in its
focus on recruiting participants from historically marginalized groups to ensure that its data reflects all communities in South Carolina.

My mother and I are taking this test to help future generations. Many people won't take it because they are afraid because you can find out scary stuff from your DNA. But God has given us this tool to be a better Christian to assist in making better medicines and procedures for future generations.

Are people protected by the GINA Act? Do you sequence the whole human genome? Who gets or has access to the report/analysis?
