Price only retests 40-60% of the time. So if you wait for a retest and the retest never comes, you just sat on the sidelines while a big move happened without you. 40-60% of the time, you are missing the wave.

Probability mindset👍🏼. You have to take every opportunity so you can let the probability’s play out over the next 100, 200, 300 trades. This is where profitability is found. Nice gem

Trading since 2018: Haven’t seen a breakout work on the first break UNLESS there’s actually news or zone of break has been tense and volume comes in fast and runs. But again buying THE break is HIGH risk if you’re size is too big or not fit for the asset.

So if you usually go in with 50 shares of US30. On BREAKS, go in 25 and ADD (+25) IF your retest is obvious and not a false retest.

I agree with Tori..It could be 50/50 . It does not always need a retest. 25% of the time it will break out and never retest, 25% of the time it will retest and breakout again, 25% of time it just reverse completely after the breakout then fake out and 25% of the time it will just stay stagnant at the breakout point and never go up or down. A lot of the times you try for a retest and price will break back up before you can even buy in after the conformation or completely miss your entry point. Basically it doesn’t matter as long as you stay consistent.

Break, I'm in too. Retest, time to double up.

Hey tori I can’t help but notice a collapsing triangle there and broke out softly twice gaining momentum each hit. I would then enter long on bottom bounce off of trend line with stop order just above line making it prove itself. If fails to breakout upper line you still ran range low to high. Still make profit because either it breaks trend or doesn’t so exit trade when comes back into channel failed breakout” with momentum. I love the triangle pattern, it’s like a cornered bear that’s gonna break out no matter what. Sometimes it’ll retest and then take off which is a even higher probability trade, but I seen it less and less lately like the markers more violent than before.

If you catch the breakout zoomed out on a 4HR chart like Tori then that's all the confirmation you need. Problem most people have is they're using a 1min chart which can easily fake you out so a retest is important for confirmation of the move. Moral of the story, zoom out! Cheers!

Ciao Bella. I use support/resistant and I take my time when the candles reach that area BUT, BUT I wait for the M&W pattern to form in those areas, then when I see it (and Not what I think?), I don’t trade in “what I think”, I trade what I see it, then I enter the trade.
Usually i analyze 1hr TF then I look at the 15’ TF, then I go the 5’ TF and lastly I look at the 1’ TF and when I see the market in each TF is either up or down I go back to the15’ TF and execute my trade and it works for me.

I’m very very very patient, calm and I wait inclusive days for the formation of the M&W to reach either support/resistant and guest what pay off be patience. buona serata!!

Confucius says TRADE THE BAR, NOT THE DIRECTION! if you can trade the bar, without being direction biased, great success!! 😊

This is a quintessential example of the risk - reward paradigm

This is a great strategy, but tends to be a bit more for people who don't mind the risk. As long as your SL is in place, and I mean a HARD STOP, you should be G2G. My stops are SUPER tight cause if I am wrong, I want to be wrong quickly.

If it work for you great, but better wait for retest and consolidation as you are making sure the probability is higher on your side. But if that works for you. I trade with leverage and my thing are best entry prices high leverage and tight stop losses.

That only works if you are in&out intraday trader.
Because there are many more wicks, then real breakouts, so you will be losing money more than gain.

This is the question I've had about your 4HR tf trading. I watched CL do this last week and it broke but I waited and missed a good chunk of the downward move. Thank you for clarifying.
