Pro tip! Use the hollow 3d (beta) function instead, then add autosupports, it Will add supports inside the model, and you wont have to use the wierd infill option.

I found that disabling the "Calculate PrintTime in Realtime" under Preferences\Global Settings helps improve performance.

In addition to Lychee being a better slicer, I actually started using it, because Chitubox was conflicting with other 3D software, causing them to crash upon opening. I couldn't really find much much to go by, but, for example... Substance Painter would continually crash upon opening a project.

By trial and error, I narrowed it down to chitubox, as soon as I uninstalled it, no more crashes.

I use the free version and enjoy using it. What annoys me with a lot of companies is paying to use the full version software ad finitum. What happened to being able to actually buying the product and upgrading in a couple of versions time if you want to.
Companies are just greedy these days. Rant over.

Mannn, fine review! We're definitely on the same page with this one! Another friend introduced me to Lychee and I haven't gone back to Chitubox.
(Now, Chitubox is a neat slicer... but I've just found the difference in accuracy to be pretty dramatic.)
A recent figure I made had a specific size for stuff to connect to (example: hands should hold 1/8" accessories). The exact same print from both slicers, printed on the same unit, turned out different, multiple times. Chitubox version was under-sized significantly enough that the accessories for the figure wouldn't fit.

Just got my mono x a month ago, and barely got it up and running, and have been trying Lychee. So far I like it

Hi Jessy! you can add an object from the "library", setting the size and orientation you need and use it as a hole. basically you can make a hole any size you want.

I have been using Lychee for about a month now and I will never look back. It's leaps and bounds above Chitubox. Thanks for this video, learned a few things which is always nice.

i started using Lychee after geting fed up with Photon Workshop (and before chitubox added support for newer anycubic printers) and I kinda love it. its a bit info overload sometimes, so many buttons and switches compared to photon workshop, but the stability and speed are making me want to switch over fully

I tried Lychee around a year ago and was not impressed at that time and kept on using chitubox. I tried it again about a half a year ago when chitubox was driving me crazy. Tried it and was quickly convinced to buy the Pro version on the yearly subscription. Makes my resin printing so much easier! I do auto generate supports and then go in and tweak things to my liking. Everything is in the software. Do not have to export to a external validator!

I'm relatively new to 3d printing, and I have to say that Lychee is much more usable than ChituBox. I think it also does supports better.

Only issue I have is the mouse support. The interface for ChituBox is better for the mouse control (like the mouse scroll to zoom, rather than moving the view).

Though, by chance, do you have recommended settings for the supports in lychee?

Amazing to see how resin 3d printing get easier and more accessible the first thing that made me buy a resin printer is your video on flexible build plate for resin

It looks like the hollowing infill actually makes sense for resin! Chitubox ends up with trapped resin in each “column” in the internal structure making it pointless and cracking prints.

I am a believer for sure! I have been using Lychee for just over a month now, and have had great results. The software is stable (even the beta version), and incredibly smart!

Lychee Is a godsend for supporting models fast. The Built in island detector works great !

Tilting the robed sword guy, was that to reduce print time, or to reduce the stress on the bottom supports? Cause it looks like it would print without supports otherwise.

Do you still use the Wham Bam Flexible Build System? If so, why not for all your printers? If not, why not?

Uncle Jesse to be honest this is the BEST Lychee tutorial I have seen! Lol! THANKS! I just need to get info on drainage hole placement and cutting files into more pieces... if that can be done with Lychee.

I had issues with Chitubox printing round cylinders as slightly elliptical - gears and threads would not work. Using Inventor 2017 Pro to model mechanical assemblies. I used Lychee to print the same test file and it printed a 60mm dia disk within .08mm of being round. The same file in Chitubox printed as 60mm x 61.4mm. Photon Mono printer. Like the supports better too.
