Totally broken that Paypal doesn't have an option to report scam invoices.

Thank you for sharing this. These creeps are too good at making these things look authentic enough. Imagine what they could do with that to actually *HELP* society. Well, you’re helping so double, triple thank you. 😀

I received the scam email. It looked really legit. I was surprised that the domain name matched the correct PayPal domain. But I smelled a rat and deleted it. What's really scary is that they are getting better and better at this game.

One time at work, we all got the same phish email and our IT guy sent out an email warning everyone not to respond to the phish. Then, within seconds, the scammer emailed everyone that our IT guy was wrong & the phish email was not a scam!

Thanks, your video proved very useful when I got one of those emails. I reported it to PayPal via their “report suspicious email address”, don’t know if they’ll do anything about it. Keep up the good work.

I am from America. I am really happy to see your work to expose people like this on web and make awareness among people. I had already shared this *GRIND TECHIEI* to all my foreign friends and ask them to share to others. Thank you again please keep the good work. Thank you again’,

When I get suspicious bills, I just go directly to my card to see if anything was charged to my credit card and where it came from. If it something is there that I do not recognize, I just call the credit card issuer and have the charges reversed. i would not even bother calling PayPal or whatever company charged it without my approval. And NEVER connect to the Amazon secure server!

Also according to Federal Law, you can demand they send you an Itemized Statement. This way it also constitutes Mail Fraud..😁

It's sad because elderly people fall for this easily. If your parents are still around people, talk to them. Tell them you love them and teach them how to avoid scams. You may think it's common sense but literally thousands become victims of these scammers. Thumps up for Joe for spreading the awareness on this issue!

This just happened to me. I was on the phone with what sounded like an indian guy and he wanted me to download an app called Anydesks and I proceeded to tell him i don't feel comfortable with downloading that app and he started getting an attitude. Also ive never made a PayPal account so I felt something was up to begin with and just wanted them to just deactivate whatever account was open.
Thank you for keeping people informed

Never open a email from PayPal, Amazon etc. Aways go to their website use your password and do your own checking on your account. Takes a minute but you will know if this is legitimate or not.

I was skeptical as soon as I read their "Note" text. Amateur writing *always* exposes amateur scammers. The PayPal aspect may be new, but the M.O. of this scam has been around for awhile. I've seen it on sites like the one you showed where people scam the scammers. Very satisfying to watch. ;-)

It happened to me exactly as you spelled out. The email, phone number, download, and VPN, the whole nine yards. You are right big red flags. Fortunately the bank teller stopped the action and locked the account. But aftermath was major pain with changed account and the direct payment recipients. Great warring to everyone.
