Great tutorial but, you forgot to mention about limitations of this. This method will only work if:
- your textures are square's
- your combined texture has even number of elements on each axis
- the plane must be of size 1.0:1.0
I just figure out that by fixing some problems so hopefully other could find this comment.

I took a break from Blender for a little bit after completing part of episode 61. I came back and am already learning soooo much. People say Blender Guru is where it's at, and although his tutorial series are pretty good, looking elsewhere is sometimes beneficial. In this case, it's been extremely beneficial. Thank you so much for making this series.

I was absolutley going crazy, I couldnt find this exact method anywhere. Nodes still make my head spin so I REALLY just needed the node set up. YOU SAVED. MUH LIFE. Thank youuuu

Like Im just.. not super keen to grease pencil yet and I genuinely am ok with drawing my frames/ the point of the project Im doing is to look like PS1 textures... so Crisp vectors within blender was gonna look weird!!! This is exactly what I needed, thanks so much!!

Instead of uv map node you could use Attribute node. Works always like a charm

If your UV Warp is not calibrated, listen up. First off, if you move your bone up and the face displays to movement to a different direction, then play around with rotating both the 'to' and 'from' bones. Also play around with changing the UV axis in the warp modifier. For me, my axis lined up with local axis of my plane used to display all the mouths/eyes. And depending on which order the UV axis were in, the bones should be rotated(90 degree intervals), remember... Only one combination worked for me.

Second, if when you move your bone, your faces/eyes on your head move too fast or too slow, then this is what you'll want to do. Adjust the scale of both the bones('to' and 'from'...they must be the same scale though) and then see if your movement lines up and then adjust the scale and then repeat. smaller scale if your texture is moving too slow, bigger scale if its moving too fast. DO NOT apply the scale though because then you will just have small bones for no point.

I hope this helps, as i saw some comments with questions and i spent the next 4 hours trying to see how i could fix it without ruining the point. I still love the tutorial.

Your animation in the intro looked great. This technique seems way easier than morphing the actual model. Like Toon Link in Wind Waker.

If you try to move the bone (Blender 2.8) and want to see the texture move, be sure to go into Pose Mode (under Object/Edit mode) to position the target bone.
