On October 10th, the Trump administration formally posted a Notice of Proposed Rule-Making (NPRM) that would drastically expand the definition of "public charge." After months of speculation and leaked documents, the administration’s proposed change would punitively burden immigrant families across the country by counting some of the public programs on which they depend against them in future immigration status proceedings. We now have until December 10th to combat this harsh attack on immigrant and mixed status families by speaking out in opposition to the proposed changes through comments to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Please join us at 2:00pm on November 2nd for a webinar dedicated to state and federal advocates, local community members, as well as interested individuals eager to fight back against this “public charge” proposed rule. The National Women's Law Center, the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum, In Our Own Voice: National Black Women's Reproductive Justice Agenda, and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health will clarify what we know now, why this rule is so dangerous, and what you can do, including what you can do if you think this proposed rule may apply to you.
