The secret to healthy rivers? 💧

Trees not only restore landscapes, they also bring back rivers. Take Ghana, for example, where our work with @TreeAid is slowly restoring the depleted Daka river.

🌳🌊🌳 By planting and regenerating more than 4 million trees in so-called tree buffers, or riparian buffers, we're protecting a vital source of water for local communities. Here, the Daka river is indispensable for drinking, washing, cooking, and farming.

But how exactly do tree buffers help restore rivers? And is tree planting enough to protect rivers in the long-term? To learn more, follow the link below to watch the full vlog about how your searches on Ecosia are making a real difference in Ghana 😍

Our cities always put concrete besides the river's bed and cut the trees around it to make it look "neat" and urban, worsening the health of the river. I hope cities and their representatives will become educated on this topic. Thank you Ecosia🍀💚
