Advice to woman joining the coast guard

Great video. Also, you probably already know this but if not . . . you can send mail to any recruit at boot camp. Believe it or not some of them never get mail. If you just address it to: Any Recruit, USCG TRACEN Cape May, 1 Munro Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204. They will give it to any recruit that hasn't gotten any mail. A bunch of the members of my Facebook Coast Guard Mom's group do that. It's a great way to send encouragement to the recruits.

yes it's got to be a tough environment to be in, any military branch would be the same, or actually any first two years at any college would be the same, with regard to excessive drinking, goofing around, having too much fun, and the trouble it might cause one

staying away from all of that (trouble) could make one feel very isolated and lonely at times

if you are taking college classes while in the coast guard, make videos of this, walking to class, the buildings, the class room, if on line, make a video of this any way you know, talk about the process of signing up, who offers the classes, how it all works, and keep us informed of what you are doing educationally every now and then, the good, the bad, and the ugly...

you're working land based now, correct?, is it possible to make a video of the station's surroundings, by walking around? and talking to people? showing us the outside and inside of buildings, as you did while walking around your boat...

Not a lady but I’m looking into joining the coast guard sometime this year and wanted to know in your opinion is enlisting for 6 yrs worth it for the increase in pay plus being able to put your name on the A-school list above all the E2’s or is it better to do the 4 yrs I looked at wait times for A-schools and curious on what the best move is hope you can answer this or make a video on it to help future recruits

how many men graduate from boot camp each year? how many women graduate from boot camp each year?

suggestion: find a way to promote your you tube channel, to women in the coast guard, maybe via coast guard boot camp, so that women joining the coast guard could have a sounding board to go to, you could have semi weekly live stream Q & A sessions, that these women might find informative

when women in the coast guard have a question on how to do something, what to say, how to handle a situation, you could be the go to person for advice, but they first need to know you exist

find a way to let the people running the boot camp know that you exist, so that they can promote your you tube channel to those graduating from boot camp
