Two large, thin metal plates are parallel and close to each other. On their inner faces, the plates have surface charge densities of opposite signs and of magnitude 17.0 × 10-22 C/m². What is E: (a) in the outer region of the first plate, (b) in the outer region of the second (c) between the plates?

sir i have a doubt. why have we not taken the signs of the surface charge densities?
on the left, we get -sigma/epilson knot
on the right we get sigma/epilson knot
in the middle we get zero, if we follow vector addition and the signs.

so why is this wrong?

Due to metal sheet Electric field is sigma / E⁰, sigma /2E⁰ is for non metallic or non conducting sheet so why you taken sigma /2E⁰

Sir, I have a doubt ...
4:46 How can we have two electric field acting at the *same point* directing towards *two different directions*, when we know “Two electric fields never cross each other, they only can have one direction..”

Sir, your answer to my doubt will be a great help <3
