A Daytona prototype, at Monza Circuit, in Italy... I would never have said I'd be able to see such a special car outside the US territory, even less at Monza. But instead here it is.
This is a 2003 Doran JE4 Daytona prototype (chassis #001), a car that entered many races from 2003 to 2006 and it is part of the first generation of Daytona protos. It's powered by a Toyota 4.3-litre 3UZ-FE V8 engine (which was installed on premium class cars, mainly the Lexus brands).

Now there's a car I wasn't expecting to see. Goodness, its odd going back to the Gen 1 Daytona Prototypes after being so accustomed to the stylistically improved Corvette DP. I miss that 3UZ-FE V8 though, liked it way better then the generic sounding GM small block that dominated as a "Pontiac".
