You have until February 1st before your email list stops seeing your emails.
Most business owners will see a decrease in email deliverability in February 2024. Both Google and Yahoo have announced that they are implementing authentication requirements for all emails that are identified as business-related.
The authentication measures that used to be suggested and best practices are now REQUIRED for an email to be delivered to a Gmail or Yahoo user.
This is not just for “bulk senders” or users that send over 5K emails daily and Gmail and Yahoo have both clarified that the 5k limit is NOT the safe zone.
Yahoo has said there is no minimum volume threshold for these requirements to be applicable, because of this I recommend all business owners to set up authentication as soon as possible.
Deliverability will be effected Feb 2024.
Here are the steps you need to complete to get ready:
Set up DMARC and DKIM (if you already have this setup you are ready for the update).
Here is how you can check if you need this:
You want to make sure that all of the email-sending platforms you use have their records added to your DNS.
For example, GHL, Klavyio, Active Campaign, Keap, etc have their DKIM that should be added to your DNS so that that CRM is Authenticated.
Keep spam complaints lower than 0.3% - This will be mandatory to deliver to Google emails.
Special Note: If you host your website with IONOS you will need to make sure you are sending from a 3rd party sender and not IONOS (think about website notifications etc). IONOS cannot set up DMARC, this may change in the future but I don’t think they will be able to implement this in a month. If you are on Wordpress you can use FluentSMTP to hook up to Office365 or Google Suite.
