There are two Indians whose contribution to the emancipation of women from the cruel clutches of the fundamentalists . Raja Ram Mohan Roy was the first lndian to save widows from the tyranny of Brahmanism/ Sanatana Dharma.
The other is Swamy Dayanand Saraswati who strove hard for widow marriage . Later on, he was poisoned by fundamentalists. He was from Gujrat. His Satyarth Prakash is the best summary of the Vedas. It is surprising that BJP never mentioned his name. Narendra Modi is strangely mum over him .
