The incredible thing about Russell Crowe is that even though publicity he has such a strong presence, he ceases to become Russell Crowe the moment he starts acting, you completely forget that it's him & you get lost in the story his character is telling.

Should have won the Oscar for The Insider. Robert Downey Jr is also up there. Nicole has proven herself over and over to be the bravest female actor. The roles she chooses would be too exposing for others. There is nowhere Nicole will not go within herself to accomplish what is required for any role.. Her turn in the Hours was transformative. She left Merryl in her wake. Mel was perfect as Max Rockatansky. His gentleness and mad strength is legendary and loved around the world. Still one of my favourite action films. The Year of Living Dangerously and Conspiracy Theory, his performances also great. His direction is also sublime e.g. Apocalypto and Braveheart
