I grew up in Eugene, training and competing at Hayward. I had many amazing experiences with the world class athletes and fans there. It's a magical place. That will never change. The old grandstands were awful, particularly, the east side. The old buildings may be gone, but you can't change the history of the site, and the tremendous culture of track and field in Eugene. I look forward to attending my 5th USOT, and first World Championships with my family and old friends. I hope that even though there are folks who are upset about the renovation, they will put that aside when Hayward reopens and cheer (loudly) for the athletes who come to compete.

GO DUCKS!

Another University of Oregon boondoggle. Thing is gonna be a money loser, just as Matt Knight Arena's not making anything close to what promoters and shills claimed it would make. And Hayward is open less than is MKA. No wonder we still don't know how much Hayward is going to be financed, and no, Uncle Phil ain't paying for all of it...
