Well, as I play in lower difficulties but for many years, there's one thing I can say. The proper strategy is the one that gives you advantage over the building of the opponent's play. You have to find how the opponent players behave in the field and block them on the proper way, for instance you block a header with not allowing him to take headers, either with a tall player or by cutting the passes to him. So, don't get stuck with a single formation, as every one has its own pros and cons, but adapt your schemes to the opponent and apply the proper marks- if you find it positive to the way you play- to the players that build the game, so as to push the AI to attack on a way that you can easily win back the ball and launch a counter. Then, you have to have in mind how you want to attack. Without a proper scenario of how to achieve a goal, you will never win the game. Such a scenario must fit to the squad you have and build the attacks and counters to this gameplay. Cheers to all!

Bought Pes this year cause of you, used to be a Fifa player but man, this game is way better. Fifa feels more arcade like, fast players and you are all set.

One of my fav tips is try to close down with your Forwards or Midfielders. Try not to use your defenders they will get into postion automatically. Also never press with your defenders as you will leave BIG gaps in your defense.

Hi, I'm new to pes I switched from fifa this year, I'm really enjoying pes so I have question please answer me how do players develope in master league? Is it like based on performance or like does players have a set Max potential they can achieve? and can u get them to crazy high overall?

Hey Spoony! Help me out man. I've never played a PES so broken. It's frustrating me so much that I nearly done with the game. I play mostly online.

Might be my faults as well but these keep annoying me:

- Everybody slices through me in the midfield. My players rarely intercept easy passes. Jockeying is useless. Especially in the penalty area and around it.
-My players are slow and act dumb. Run through the ball without picking it up. Or when they are the nearest to the ball they stand there without doing a thing.
- Can't do nothing against players shielding the ball.
- Cursor change during defensive moments rarely give me the player i'm looking for.
-I've also been poor offensively in pes20, not creating much chances while other players just run through me without me able to do a thing!

I could go on and on... it's p*ss*ng me off! Hope you can help me out. Thanks!

Nice work as always spoons.
I find it difficult to block strikers in and around my box my defenders go sleeping . The opposing strikers are too free, they easily turn and kick a shot 😂

It looks like the player's playstyle also has an impact in the system work. E.g. my 2 DMFa are anchor man and orcheastrator (sg like that :) ) and they do not go up on the field and support like in your video (or simply they are not that good as Pogba lol).
And when one of my AMF is playmaker (other hole player) he mostly comes back and asks for ball during build up while the others go upper.

In ML I can easily experiment with playstyles to find the best.
I use the "ultimate formation and tactics" as I also found that system working best especially with my weaker ML basic team (which is also getting strong enough for Spanish 2nd division in the 2nd season lol).

It’s one of the features, next to the pressure mini game, I really like to use.
And i think it’s important to use it to unleash the full potential of the game.
Knowing your opponents strategy, read him, and knowing & using your own strategy to counter that is an important part for me too!
AND fuma...! :)

If all this would be taking away from me, a huge part of this game would be missing and I could not enjoy it as much (or at all). And imo, it wouldn't just lose a few funny aspects, it would lose an integral part of the game

Hey Spoony, I have a question about attacking. My Master League team plays a 4 5 1 formation, 4 2 3 1, with two defensive midfielders. I want to know what playing style one of my defensive midfielders has to play in order for him to get into the box for crosses during the game, not including set pieces. Also, I dont want the playing style that allows for this to be "box to box" because I dont want my defensive midfielder going forward way too much and getting caught out of position on the counter attack.

I have a problem .. in pes 18 passing lev.1 and skills and players reactions was great for me .. in pes 20 new i have problem with quickly passing and tikitaka playing .. passing with r2 or r1 or L1 and passing at all is annoying me .. plz help me bro

Hey Spoony, I wondered if you could make a video on how players behave when you choose wide or centre attack. I have an understanding, I.e with wide, a centre midfielder will more support the winger for passing options and vice versa I believe. Sometimes it can get confusing for example if your playing an opponent who has 3 midfielders and you have 2, you may want to play wide yet sometimes I feel it could be ser to centre as maybe centre will make my left or right midfielder or 2 strikers support them more etc.
Yet if you play wide attack setting, I believe the strikers may tend to go wide to get the ball etc

I pretty much always play Offensive, because it spread better on the pitch and in defense everyone is more aggressive and push higher the opponent.
